It is an honour to represent our community of East Kilbride, Strathaven and the landward areas as your MP in the UK Parliament. My team and I are dedicated to working tirelessly to build a safer, stronger, and more prosperous future for everyone.
Like many in our community, I was born in Glasgow but chose to make East Kilbride my home.
After graduating from Glasgow University in 2008, I moved to London, building a career in public policy and going on to become Head of Policy for the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges.
Alongside my professional career, I entered public service and was elected as a local councillor from 2014 to 2022, taking on key leadership roles. In my first term, I served as Chair of the Planning Committee, and in my second term, I was appointed Cabinet Member for Safer Communities. During my time in local government, I championed a preventative public health approach to tackling violent crime and played a key role in delivering essential services, including the youth justice system—an initiative that won a national award for transforming its approach to offending.
As your MP, my first and most important job is to support everyone living in East Kilbride, Strathaven and the landward areas. I will be a visible MP, active in our local community, and your champion in Westminster, ensuring our communities have a strong voice in Parliament and that the issues that matter most to you are heard at the highest levels.
